AUTOBIOGRAPHY

Su-Ling was born of penniless Chinese parents and grew up in a noisy, overcrowded section of Hong Kong. She was torn between the ancient customs of her ancestors and the new, exciting life of the West which seemed just beyond her grasp-and, in THE 9
HOLES OF JADE, Su-Ling tells the story of her struggle to find a secure place for herself. She was deter-mined to escape from the squalor of her life, and, as a teenager, she realized she had only one thing she could use to reach toward her goal-her lovely, young body.

This is her story of how she used her body-in grimy sampans in Macao, in plush apartments in Hong Kong, and in the weird arenas of Chinese brothels. She became the mistress of an English soccer player, of a wealthy American-and she even became (briefly) a film star. But, in her world where death was so common no one even gave it a second glance, Su-Ling managed to survive.

She is now a respectable housewife, living quietly in Beverly Hills, and in her book she looks back with-out shame over the twisted, erotic jungle in which she grew up.
