… Good Reading for the Millions

A Gallery of Women surrounded Robert Crane, the defiant young writer who led a very unconventional life.
Trudi Asch, the beautiful German refugee .. Kate Partridge, the uninhibited wife of his best friend … and pretty, young Brigit.
They wanted only to make him happy. But he had time for none of them. He was in love with Nettie Shaw and even her name spelled magic. It didn’t matter that she was years older than he or that she was married-and had no intention of leaving her husband.

“Charming, beautifully written … engrossing and exciting.”-Boston Herald

BERNARD GLEMSER was born in Eng- land, but he has lived in the United States for ten years and is now an American citizen.
